Archive APN Blog: Voting Rights Journal #1: Basic Math

So, today’s the big day. What can we expect? Here is some basic math:

  • 720 minutes (7am - 7pm)
  • 5,755,750 registered Georgia voters
  • 5,180,175 estimated to vote (90%)
  • 2,020,839 voters early voted
  • 3,159,336 voters estimated yet to vote
  • 2,024,392 voted in February Presidential Preference Primary
  • 56% increase in estimated turnout from February
  • 159 counties with 159 interpretations of voting rules

With dozens of “super” precincts with more than 3,000 registered voters, and most precincts only being allocated two express pollbooks, you can imagine what the day will bring.

I’m be at Election Protection HQ all day. Let the day begin!

Here are some more numbers for voters who need help . . . and/or want to file complaints about voting problems:

  • DOJ Complaints (local number): 404-581-6000
  • FBI (voter intimidation complaints): 404-679-9000
